The Indian Coast Guard is a para-military force constituted under the Ministry of Defense. It requires the commitment to serve the country, dedication, robust physical health, honesty, disciplined outlook and leadership ability. The Coast Guard is committed to protecting the maritime and other national interests in the Maritime Zones of India.
Some of the different operational areas of Coast Guard include-
• General Duty Branch
• Pilot/Navigator Branch
• Engineering Branch
• Electrical Branch
The selection to the various cadres of the Coast Guard is conducted twice every year in January and June. The examinations are conducted in two phases.
