CBSC Proficiency Test
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts a Proficiency Test for Class X students. Optional in nature, this test has been designed for students who are going to appear in CBSE Class X Board Exams next year in March.
The proficiency test has been designed for all the five main subjects of Class X viz. English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Hindi. There will be a separate test in every subject and one test will be held on a single day. It will be a paper-pen test to be conducted on the same day across all the registered schools in the country.
Each question paper will carry multiple choice questions of total 100 marks and the time duration to complete them will be 2.5 hours. There will be negative marking for wrong answers and therefore, the students are advised to attempt only those questions which they are confident about.
The test will be based on classes IX-X syllabus in the subject prescribed by CBSE. The questions included in the question paper will be of varying difficulty levels.
Since this Proficiency Test is optional in nature, only those students who wish to take this test willingly may appear. The willing schools are required to submit the related information to the Board through online filling up of the registration form available on CBSE’s website.
