Passing of Food Corporation Act 1964 resulted in the setting up of Food Corporation Act of India. The objective of setting up of this corporation was to fulfill Food Policy’s aims. Care is taken that the interests of farmers are safeguarded effectively. Using an efficient public distribution system, the food grains are distributed to the farmers. In order to ensure security, a buffer stock of food grains is also maintained.
The Corporation has played a major role in ensuring a stable food security system in the country. The Corporation periodically announces vacancies in the organization as and when the need arises.
