Indian Information Service Junior Grade
The Indian Information Services (IIS) Officers are controlled by the Ministry of Defence (Directorate of Public Relations). Their tasks comprise of managing government’s print media, advertising agency, electronic media, Union Ministries (news desk), act as press advisors, constitute a press party, organize press conferences, control official media, organize national and international festivals, etc.
Their work is exciting and requires a flair for journalism, public relations and administration all together. There is a special requirement to enter this service. The officers need to have prior experience of working in a newspaper, news agency or ad agency.

nits like Press Information Bureau, Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Directorate of Field Publicity, Publications Division, Registrar of Newspapers for India, News Services Division of AIR and Doordarshan News. The basic function is to inform, educate and communicate government views, policies and programs to the masses and collect their feedback and views on the same.
