Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS)
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is recognized as a Deemed University, primarily funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). TISS has earned recognition as an institution of repute from different Ministries of the Government of India, various State Governments, international agencies such as the United Nations, and the non-government sector, both national and international.
The institute’s mission is the creation and provision of socially relevant and high quality professional education in a wide range of inter-disciplinary areas of Social Sciences to a larger number of students from all sections of the society in the country and knowledge creation through M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes and Post-Doctoral scholars.
